Offering fast speed and one of the most spectacular displays ever seen in a mobile device, the new iPad 3 really rocks for wathing movies. Video has stepped up to 1080p from the previous 720p which means you can enjoy HD even Full-HD videos on the new iPad 3. Still, one big problem is that the new iPad 3 only supported certain file types which formated in .mp4, .m4v, .mov. However, this doesn’t mean we can not copy more movies like 1080p/720p MKV videos to the iPad 3rd generation. Despite of lack of offical support, we can get HD MKV files onto new iPad 3 for smoothly playing with Mac.
According to my experience, in order to watch MKV HD movies on new iPad 3, we need to convert MKV to new iPad 3 compatible video formats along with some help from a third-party software. Video converter varies. A recommended one is Pavtube’s new iPad 3 HD Converter for Mac.
To be honest, the Mac 1080p Conversion software for new iPad 3 is fantastic and very easy to use. Very quick conversions and lots of file format options. I use the program for converting WMV and MKV for my iPad 3 with Mac. It works very well and I haven’t really had any problems. Meanwhile the videos look decent on my new iPad as possible as original.
The software works like most Video Converter app I’ve used. Assuming you have downloaded the perfect Mac MKV to new iPad 3 Converter the first step is to add your 1080p MKV files. You can also load more files included with AVI, TiVo, AVCHD MTS, WMV, FLV etc.. Then choose an iPad 3 output profile and start the conversion process.
PS: There are three customized formats for new iPad 3 – iPad 3 MPEG 4 Video(*.mp4), iPad 3 HD Video(*.mp4) and iPad 3 Full HD Video(*.mp4). The profile “iPad 3 (New iPad) HD Video(*.mp4)” is recommended here, which helps you watch HD movies on new iPad 3 with decent video quality.

Once the conversion completes, transfer the result videos to the new iPad 3 via iTunes. So there you have it. So there you have it. Pretty simple! Now you start watching 1080p/720p HD MKV movies on new iPad 3. Enjoy!
