Both Nook Color and its successor Nook Tablet comes with a stunning 7″ display which brings your entertainment to life. Besides reading e-books, browsing, playing games, you can also take the Nook as a perfect gadget for watching movies on the go: However, sometime something goes wrong when you’re trying to put a Digital Copy on your Nook Color or Nook Tablet via Mac, and you may have got the similiar porblems as below:
Q1: I have transfer my digital copy movies to iTunes, I can easily sync them to my iPad and iPhone for enjoying, what if any digital copy movies downloading to my Android based Nook Color Tablet?
Q2: Can the Nook color play a Digital Copy of a movie? I would like to put a movie from my Digital Copy Disc on my Nook color tablet. Is it possible?
Q3: Nook Tablet – Digital Copy Download Not Working? I downloaded a digital copy of a movie and I copied the file onto nook’s folders where my other movies are, and when I went to play it on my Nook Tablet, it gave me error “Sorry, video cannot be played.” Why and how can I get it to work?
As far as I know, in order to transfer Digital Copies to Nook Color/Tablet for playing back at ease, you may have to strip DRM protection and convert Digital Copy to Nook playable format MPEG4 or H.264 first. As you see, the movie industry uses DRM(Digital Rights Management) to lock down the video on the Digital Copy. The Digital Copy, however, will not play on unauthorized devices due to DRM copy protection. Unfortunately the Android devices have not get a license to play DRM contents, which means Digital Copy movies will not even play on the Nook Color and Nook Tablet.
So, to get Digital Copy works normally on Nook Tablets, you’ll need to get rid of DRM from Digital Copy movies. There are many programs out there that allow you make digital copies out of DRM-protected contents. If you are interested in doing likewise an looking for ease of use, I’ve had success using Pavtube’s ChewTune, a top Mac Digital Copy Converter for Android to copy my transferred iTunes Digital Copy movies to my Nook.

The program can handle Digital Copy DRM-restricted movies, iTunes DRM-protected videos and Windows Media DRM contents for almost all popular Android-based Tablets and smartphones. I’ve found the output quality to be excellent, and the playback of the converted videos is as decent as possible as original.

The process is straightforward. After dragging and dropping the Digital Copy movie from Mac iTunes to the great Mac DRM removal software, select a mp4 format to transcode to. Click “Format” bar and move mouse cursor to “Android” > “Nook Tablet(*.mp4)“. The profile is specially designed for Nook Tablets and supplies full-screen playback. Finally, start the conversion.
The software works like most other DRM removal software I’ve used, one thing keeping in mind is that you’d better do some preparations for using the Mac Digital Copy Converter for Nook:
- Set iTunes not to remember playback position.
- Set iTunes to 32bit if you are running Mac OS X Lion.
- Run the program and type in password of your Mac account as it requires.
Once the conversion completes, you can download the and transfer DRM-free Digital Copy movies to Nook Color/Tablet for playing back at ease. Enjoy!
